The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home was established in 1908 in Enterprise, Florida on the banks of Lake Monroe. The Children’s Home provides services to families and to children from childhood into adulthood. Our Residential Care Program provides school-aged children who have been victimized by abuse, neglect or abandonment a family-style home, education, counseling, and recreation and ministry opportunities. The Children’s Home also provides Foster Care, an Emergency Shelter, an Independent Living Program and Child Care to the public and is supported primarily through the generosity of churches within the United Methodist Florida Conference, individuals and legacy gifts. For more information, visit www.fumch.org. Heart & Home Resale Shop, located in Orange City, FL, sells donated items to support the resident programs of the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home. Volunteers are needed to assist customers/donors, sort and stock merchandise, and maintain the store's physical appearance through displaying merchandise in an appealing manner and providing excellent customer service. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old and supervised by an adult who is also volunteering until they are 16 years old. Comfortable clothing should be worn and closed toe shoes must be worn at all times. A signed liability waiver is required for all volunteers.
